One product, one country, and what we have actually checked.
Calnido sells one thing: an outdoor enclosure that lets a cat be outside without being loose. We sell it in Australia, because that is where the question is being asked.
Why Australia
Australian councils are changing the rules under cat owners’ feet. The ACT has required every cat born since July 2022 to be contained. Knox, Yarra Ranges, Bass Coast, Wyndham and Mount Alexander now require containment 24 hours a day. More councils vote on it every year.
An owner who reads that letter from their council has two choices: keep the cat inside for the rest of its life, or give it somewhere outside it cannot leave.
How we write about this
We publish what we have read on each council’s own page, with the date we read it and a link to the source. When we have not checked a council, we write “we have not checked this council yet” — never “no rule”. An enclosure sold on a rule we invented would be worth nothing.
The same applies to the product. Every figure about the enclosure comes from our suppliers in writing: the factory for the enclosure itself, our freight forwarder for delivery times and costs. Carton size and weight are printed on the factory's carton. The value we give the free extras comes from prices we read at an Australian retailer, and the product page explains it. Where a supplier told us they do not know, we say they do not know.
Who makes it
A specialist manufacturer in China that builds this enclosure as a finished product — frame, netting, sleeves, hammock, carry bag and ground stakes, in one box. We chose a factory that makes the whole thing rather than assembling one ourselves, because a net bought separately from a frame never fits properly. A net-cage manufacturer told us that plainly, against their own interest, and we believed them.
Where we are
Orders are open for Australia. The first batch comes from the maker's own stock and travels by sea from China. The product page shows the latest delivery date before you order, and your order confirmation repeats it.
