Shipping, weather, and what we guarantee

Nothing on this page is a forecast. Every figure comes from our suppliers in writing - the factory and our freight forwarder - or from our own policies.

How it ships

By sea from China, then by road to your door. By air the freight would cost more than the enclosure.

When it arrives

The delivery date shown on the product page when you order is written on your order confirmation. It is at most six weeks after your order - seven weeks in Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Until our first batch reaches our forwarder's warehouse, allow one more week: the date shown on the product page already includes it. If we miss it you choose between more time and a full refund.

What delivery costs

Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT: included in the price. Queensland: about AUD 12. South Australia: about AUD 16. Western Australia: about AUD 28. Tasmania and the Northern Territory: about AUD 52. The exact amount is shown at checkout before you pay. Nothing is collected from you on delivery: our freight forwarder is the importer and clears customs. Shipping policy.

How you pay

Once, in full, when you order. In exchange you get a firm date in writing.

The warranty: one year against rust

The frame is warranted against rust for one year, in writing. We asked the maker for two. They refused, in writing: “no supplier can honestly guarantee a complete absence of rust for two years — we prefer to give you a realistic commitment.”

We could have printed two years and paid the second one out of our own margin. We would rather print the number that will actually be stood behind.

The steel is galvanised inside and out, then powder coated. Galvanising the inside of the tube is what matters: that is where this kind of frame rusts first.

Wind and weather — read this before you buy

This enclosure has never been tested against a wind rating, and the maker told us so plainly. So we will not tell you it survives an Australian storm.

What they did tell us: it is made for normal wind and light to moderate rain. In a storm, heavy rain or strong wind, take it down. Four ground stakes are included; they hold on soft ground, and they do not work on concrete. The roof cover gives shade and shelter from light to moderate rain; it is not UV-rated and not made for heavy rain.

An assembly guide comes with your order, and we answer assembly questions within one working day.

What is in the box

Steel tube frame, knotted netting with a zip door, fabric sleeves over the tubes, a hammock, a roof cover, a carry bag and four ground stakes. The first batch of 12 also comes with a small bag of cat toys. Nothing else — no shelf, no scratching post, no ballast bags. If it is not on this list, it is not in the box.

Returns

We do not take an enclosure back for a simple change of mind. Damaged, faulty or incomplete: we fix it at our cost and you send nothing back. If your council refuses a garden enclosure as containment, in writing, within 90 days of delivery: full refund, and we collect it. Refund policy.
